New Work ~ Inter Cambio website
Now live is the “blog of the Latin American Platform on Climate”, also known as Intercambio Climatico.
A unique initiative which aims to generate answers from Latin America on the global problem of climate change. Its principal goal is to help link and connect existing Latin American efforts to confront the challenges of climate change and influence public opinion and decision-making on political, social and environmental issues.
The site is a magazine-style, WordPress-powered blog running the WPML multi-language plugin to give the ability to post articles in English, Spanish and Portuguese-Brazilian. It was my first opportunity to use such a plugin, and following some tweaking to get it working with the bespoke WordPress theme, it’s running really well, and also has the ability to translate core plugin strings and other site items such as the navigation links, section headers etc.
The site also features a video category which automatically loads posts with embedded videos into the second column, and a Delicious tag feed which is also displayed in one of the columns, using the SimplePie plugin.
