Create Spotify playlists from your Last.fm loved tracks

You might know I’m a very keen listener of the musics while I work, and following on from a few previous posts about the many joys that can be experienced with Last.fm and Spotify, I’ve found a new novelty tool weapon piece of sheer genius that opens up a fresh new listening experience, or at least revives flagging ears. Behold, I give you…

Spotibot

Spotibot can do all sorts of joyous things with your listening preferences, like creating playlists based on your favourite bands, recommendations or loved tracks, and when teamed up with Last.fm the horizons really start to open up. Just visit the site, enter your Last.fm username and before you can snap an X-Factor tribute CD across your knee, you have all* your “loved” tracks from Last.fm beautifully packaged in a Spotify-friendly playlist ready for you to drag-n-drop that bad boy where it belongs.

If you’re a hardcore Last.fm user like me (17,093 listens and counting!) then you’ll have plenty of loved tracks to choose from, and despite losing a few in the process (The ‘Spot has yet to keep up with Last.fm’s exhaustive catalogue) I was very happy with the massive new playlist I have at my disposal. I’m forever listening and “loving” new tracks and don’t always remember to look them up elsewhere, and you can’t always listen again on Last.fm.

You can check out my “LastFM Loved” playlist on Spotify here, and see my Last.fm profile here. Why not leave me a shout while you’re at it!

*to be fair, of about 700 loved tracks I ended up with a Spotify playlist of about 260, which is still pretty good I think.
