Even more beautiful Last.fm listening stat graphs

I’ve previously written about some rather lovely visualisations that pull data from your Last.fm account, and now here’s another to add to the list.

The very clever Andrew Godwin over at Aeracode has come up with LastGraph, which “lets you explore your last.fm listening history”.

Intrigued, I entered my account name (arithmetic) and set the system running. Held in queue position 2 (“your call is important to us…”), I made myself a drink and came back to a humongous 1560×340, 22.5Mb pdf file displaying my listening history since September 2009! A fantastic tool, and weird to be able to trace back over time and see what I’ve been listening to. I seem to go though binge and purge phases of listening to a new artist for a while, and then turn to something old and familiar to clear my palette. Also interesting to see when I discovered Spotify and how that’s affected my listening trends.

What does your listening history say about you?

I totally agree that this is a great tool to see how your own tastes change. I have massive sections where I blast an artist and then they drop out again. In’t data brilliant.

Come one then Andy – tell the world your Last.fm username so we can laugh at your secret music shame!
